Bob Felten Scholarship
“I’d always planned to be a shortstop” is the first sentence of Professor Bob Felten’s entry on the Reynolds School of Journalism website. When that didn’t work out, he went on to success in journalism and advertising, marriage to the “Lovely and Talented Kristin” and more than 30 +years of working with advertising students at the Reynolds School.
As a professor, he taught and mentored bright young people who became leaders in the advertising and marketing fields around the country. He also coached hundreds of students through the years in the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC), leading teams to both district and national titles.
Professor Felten has served on the AMA and AAF Reno boards, consistently advocating for progress within the industry and acting as a bridge between both organizations and the University.
He played a transformative role in the lives of many students, all of whom benefited when Bob failed to become a baseball legend.
To honor Professor Felten and recognize his contributions to the Reynolds School of Journalism, we are establishing a scholarship endowment in his name. Your contribution to his scholarship will honor his legacy at the Reynolds School and support generations of students to come.
