Social Work Month 2020
Honor your social workers for the important work they do to help families and individuals confront, cope with, and overcome challenges during National Social Work Month in March. To celebrate our first year of independence and in honor of Social Work Month, we invite you to “help the helpers” by making a generous gift in support of our students and the communities they serve.
Nevada has a critical shortage of social workers, with a ratio of just one social worker to nearly 1,000 residents. Some of Nevada’s greatest areas of need for social workers include child protective services, in schools and medical centers, and within the juvenile justice system, to name just a few.
The School of Social Work is committed to reducing that shortage and meeting the workforce needs of both urban and rural communities by preparing effective, ethical social workers, who are dedicated, compassionate change-agents, ready to meet the critical needs of communities across Nevada and beyond. Your support will help reduce the financial stress associated with student debt and help prepare them to empower others to live to their fullest potential.
Please help us honor social work students for their passion, purpose, and heart with a gift in support of the School of Social Work at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Every gift, no matter the size, will make a difference for the School of Social Work.
