The ASUN Marczynski Student Emergency Fund was established to provide financial support to undergraduate students in emergency circumstances. The University of Nevada, Reno is taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our entire campus community during the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. As we face this crisis together, we acknowledge that many of our students are suddenly facing unexpected and urgent expenses related to the impacts of COVID-19. Your support will provide direct aid to undergraduate students in need during this global crisis and other emergencies during the academic year.
Throughout the pandemic, many students and their families have faced gaps in incomes and struggled to meet basic needs. Amid extreme economic uncertainty and rising student debt balances, most college students say the coronavirus crisis has changed how they feel about their financial future. Many of these young adults are dependent on their parents for financial support, but many parents, and the students themselves, have experienced job loss as a result of the pandemic. The pandemic has made education especially challenging for first generation and economically disadvantaged groups. Donor support will provide direct aid to students in need during this global crisis and other emergencies during the academic year.
