KUNR Novel Coronavirus Coverage
KUNR is working hard to navigate the COVID-19 crisis and keep our community connected. One of our core values is a commitment to serving the public. This value motivates us to work long days and late nights to provide you with daily, accurate journalism that is more than a headline.
Our focus has shifted to covering this crisis locally and regionally. Our full-time and student reporters are working around the clock out of makeshift home studios to bring you the latest COVID-19 updates. These are scary and uncertain times for all of us, but knowing that our community is counting on us and values our work keeps us going
With the long hours and constant news cycle surrounding COVID-19, we are in need of additional health related reporting and programming. Your support today, will go directly to supporting these critical staffing needs. We anticipate spending $10,000 over the next 3 months to employ 5 student reporters and $50,000 over the next 3 months to employ 3 full-time reporters and $3,000 per month for a part-time health reporter.
Our work continues because of support from our listeners and donors. If the reporting you’ve heard from KUNR and our colleagues at NPR over the past few weeks has helped you stay informed, please consider making a financial contribution.
We know that many of your find yourself in financial hardship, and our news and programming is here for you, always. If you do find yourself in a position to give, any amount, no matter the size will make an impact, please consider making a gift today.
