Orvis School of Nursing
READY for what lies AHEAD.
Our community and Nevada depend on the quality of health care that our nurses provide as we address the health issues affecting our population. Orvis nursing students are stepping up to meet Nevada’s demand for nurses, but many depend on the support of our alumni and friends to help them overcome the financial challenges inherent in obtaining a fast-paced, rigorous degree like the Accelerated 2nd Degree BSN.
Please make a gift to share your thanks and show your support for Orvis students as they prepare to become competent and compassionate leaders in nursing. Orvis Dean Debera Thomas will be generously matching dollar for dollar all gifts in support of an endowed scholarship for the ASBSN program, up to $10,000 by the end of this calendar year.
These students come from diverse backgrounds, yet they share a common dilemma--with classes and clinical hour requirements, most cannot pursue employment to off-set their education costs. And many are facing additional financial hardship from the economic fallout of the pandemic.
Our first cohort of 24 students have demonstrated incredible tenacity and determination to pursue their nursing degrees despite the interruption created by the global pandemic, and are on track to graduate this December. Your gift today will help provide scholarships to our next cohort who will soon begin this demanding, yet incredibly rewarding journey.
