As we continue to make our way through this unprecedented time in our lives, the COEHD continues to be a source of continuity and support for our students who have been profoundly affected socially, emotionally, physically and financially by the pandemic.
Last fall in response to the pandemic, the College created a new and permanent Student Emergency Fund, and raised over $10,000 to address critical needs in a timely way, and help our students stay where they need to be – in class and on track to graduation.
Within days of announcing this new fund, the College of Education & Human Development (COEHD) received almost 200 requests for support, far exceeding our capacity to provide assistance and placing the need for this type of fund at the forefront of our fundraising initiatives.
“I just got laid off from my job yesterday because of COVID. This money will help me survive while I find another job. I pay rent on my own as well as car insurance and other necessary things to live.”
We are asking you to join us in supporting our students by making a gift to the COEHD Student Emergency Fund.
Every gift, no matter the size, will have an impact on our students. We are excited to announce that your gift will have double the impact, thanks to a generous matching gift. All gifts to the COEHD Student Emergency Fund will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $10,000.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment and for always remembering the “life changing learning” that happens every day in the College of Education & Human Development.
“I am currently working 40+ hours with two jobs to help me and my family pay rent while going to school full time. I would use the money to help feed my siblings so that I can focus more on school than how much money we need for groceries. Any money will help and I will be so grateful!”
