The Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center and DeLaMare Science and Engineering Library serve as centers of community, student engagement, and knowledge creation. We know that our University of Nevada, Reno students and faculty cannot achieve academic success without the support of the Libraries and Teaching & Learning Technologies (TLT) and we continuously strive to meet ever-evolving challenges of an increasingly hybrid teaching, learning and working environment.
To successfully meet these continuing challenges, we need your help. You can make a meaningful difference in providing resources and enhancing teaching and learning during these uncertain times for our students, faculty and community by making a gift to the University Libraries.
Over the past year our students and faculty from across campus have expressed their appreciation for the Libraries’ ability to pivot and provide valuable support and online resources during the pandemic. And now as we look to a promising future our students and faculty have expressed how excited they are to return to campus this fall. We look forward to welcoming our faculty and staff back to our treasured Libraries, which offer not only essential resources, but also provide comfort, stability and are such an iconic part of the college experience.
One third of the Libraries’ staffing needs are typically fulfilled by student workers. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we were not able to employ our hard-working student workers in the full capacity we normally do. We look forward to welcoming our student workers back to the Libraries this fall. Since our student workers were not able to work on campus – this has deprived them of the hands-on experience they need to build their careers.
Your tax-deductible gift to the University Libraries will ensure we can continue to provide the critical resources and support our students and community depend on.
