“The white coat has served as the pre-eminent symbol of physicians for over 100 years.” – The Doctor’s White Coat: An Historical Perspective.
Class of 2023 White Coat Ceremony photo by Brin ReynoldsEach fall, 70 incoming University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine medical students mark the start of medical school and the beginning of a lifetime of service during their White Coat Ceremony.
For these first-year medical students, the white coat is more than just a school supply. It represents a lifelong dream, years of hard work and sacrifice and hope for the future.
We invite you to invest in the success of future physicians by supporting UNR Med’s White Coat Campaign.
While UNR Med works hard to keep tuition and fees as affordable as possible for our students, there’s no way around it. Medical school is expensive.
Your gift will purchase white coats for incoming UNR Med students and create the start of a White Coat Endowment Fund that will support medical students in perpetuity — students like Nadia Manivong and Hao To.
For Nadia, UNR Med Class of 2022, the white coat represents a dedication to making new community healthier — now and into the future. For Hao, UNR Med Class of 2023, the white coat embodies the care and love of his family and a privilege to serve humanity.
Please help UNR Med medical students by giving today.
Between now and Thursday, August 12, the School of Medicine Alumni Chapter will match every gift we receive — up to $17,500 — doubling the impact of your support.
The pandemic reminded us all how crucial caring and knowledgeable physicians are to the fabric of our community. Thank you for supporting future physicians through UNR Med’s White Coat Campaign.
