The fund provides support to veteran students during unexpected times of need, ensuring students stay in school and continue making progress towards a degree when hurdles are unexpectedly presented.

Veteran Services strives to connect and support student veterans in the transition to higher education, career and civic endeavors. Through our services, GI BILL® processing and the Nevada Military Support Alliance Veteran and Military Center, we uphold familiar traditions that many experiences in the military including, camaraderie, respect and a sense of belonging.

The original Ruptured Duck was a cloth insignia depicting an eagle inside a wreath. It was worn on uniforms above the right breast pocket by WWII serviceman and servicewomen. It was issued to service personnel who were about to leave the military with an Honorable Discharge. Unofficially, the pin identified the individuals as a veteran to public transportation companies, who offered free transportation to returning veterans.
